President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi said his administration has gotten on the right track to reduce inflation and achieve economic growth, pledging that production will boom in the new Iranian year.
The president gave a speech on the state TV on Wednesday morning on the occasion of the new Iranian year.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements in the previous year, Raisi said the country has experienced economic growth rates above 4% in the previous year.
“These show that we, together with people and professional of various economic sectors, have chosen the principled and correct path for sustainable reduction of inflation and sustainable economic growth,” he said.
“The unemployment rate in the fall of 1402 had a record low decrease and entered the channel of 7 percent, and the unemployment rate for the whole year will be lower from 1401. Part of the employment created was in the form of the movement to revive the closed and semi-closed manufacturing enterprises across the country, whose number today has exceeded 7 thousand production units,” the president added.
“Not only the investment and completion of projects did not stop in these 30 months, but Iran became a workshop of construction, progress and hope,” he noted.
“Today, more than two million and 400 thousand houses are being built in the country,” the president stated, adding that significant measures have been also taken in the electricity and gas production sectors.
Raisi also assured people that the administration will accelerate the completion of half-finished projects in the new year. “We have to direct the funds towards production and infrastructure works and at the same time, make up for the backwardness of the previous decade,” he added, his official website reported.
“The year 1403 will be the year of greater prosperity of production and economy, further reduction of the inflation rate and extensive service to the dear people,” the president added.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has chosen the slogan “surge in production through people’s participation” for the new Iranian year.
