Russian military personnel cast their votes in the Russian presidential elections at the Hmeimim base

Military personnel and workers at the Russian Hmeimim military base in Syria have begun early voting in the Russian presidential elections, which will begin tomorrow in Russia and continue until the 17th of this month.

Early voting in the Russian presidential elections began on February 25 and continues until today.

The Russian presidential elections will be held over three days, on March 15, 16, and 17, in accordance with citizens’ desire to allow the longest possible time to vote, in a precedent that is the first of its kind in Russia’s electoral history.
 


Opinion polls indicate that Russian President, Vladimir Putin, may receive more than 80% of the votes, and that the voting percentage may reach more than 70%.

Polls also indicate that the candidates Nikolai Kharitonov for the Russian Communist Party will receive 6% support, Vladislav Davankov for the New People Party will receive 6% support, and Leonid Slutsky for the Liberal Democratic Party will receive 5% support.
