14 were killed in a explosion targeting an electoral office in Balochistan province, southwest of the country

At least 14 people were killed in an explosion near a political party office in southwestern Pakistan, the second to rock Balochistan province on the eve of general elections, officials said.

Balochistan Provincial Information Minister, Jan Ashkazai, said that the explosion “occurred near a local candidate’s office” in Killa Saifullah.

In turn, the Deputy Commissioner of the Pishin District, Jumma Dad Khan, said, “An explosion occurred in the office of an electoral candidate from the No Kandi area in the Pishin District, killing 8 people,” before the number of victims was updated.
 


Earlier, at least 12 people were killed in an explosion near the office of a candidate for the legislative and local elections that will be held Thursday in Pakistan, according to sources in the Pakistani police.

This comes at a time when rival political parties are organizing mass rallies to mark the end of the election campaign period.
