3 people were killed as a result of a severe storm that caused floods and cut off electricity to half a million houses in California

At least 3 people were killed in the US state of California, as a result of a severe storm that caused massive floods and cut off electricity to nearly half a million houses.

California is exposed to a wave of storms, with meteorologists predicting heavy rains and strong winds in most parts of the state, leading to floods, mudslides, and power outages.

The south of the state has been witnessing uninterrupted heavy rains for more than 24 hours, while the northern part of the state was exposed to violent winds, resulting in trees falling, killing 3 people.

In this context, California Governor, Gavin Newsom, warned, “This is a huge storm, the repercussions of which could pose a threat to lives.”

Newsom declared a state of emergency in 8 of the state's 58 counties.

Among the counties most affected by the storm were Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Santa Barbara, all located in Southern California.
