
A large-scale public event titled "Solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Lebanese Resistance" was held at the conference hall of the headquarters of the Shia Muslim community in Ghana, located in the Newtown district of Accra. The gathering was part of a global campaign rejecting oppression under the slogan "No," and featured the participation of political figures, academics, representatives of civil society organizations, and various Islamic groups.
The event included a protest demonstration during which participants expressed their solidarity with Iran, the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, and the Axis of Resistance. Attendees raised banners condemning U.S. and Zionist aggression, while calling for strengthened Islamic unity in the face of regional and international challenges.
In his opening address, Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmad Kamal al-Din, the national imam of the Shia Muslim community in Ghana, stated that such gatherings aim to disseminate reliable information on international issues. He noted that the event supports resistance forces confronting Israeli and U.S. policies, emphasizing that Iran and Hezbollah are not alone in this struggle.
Speaking on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Mawlawi Ibrahim Hafif Sandu remarked that internal divisions within the Islamic ummah, political hypocrisy, and the absence of a unified stance are among the primary causes of escalating attacks.
Dr. Marzuq Abu Bakr Azindu, representing the Grand Imam of the Republic of Ghana, considered the practices of the Zionist entity to be a key source of suffering for peoples. He asserted that the gathering represents a resistance front and concluded his speech with a Quranic verse: "Indeed, Our soldiers will be the victorious."
In a recorded address, Dr. Ali Ghamshi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ghana, stated that the Iranian people and resistance forces will not forget these gestures of solidarity. He added that his country has been subjected to aggression targeting civilian infrastructure and various facilities, alongside human losses among leadership figures linked to Hezbollah.
Dr. Hadi Kamal Izzati, President of the Islamic University College in Ghana, noted that the Islamic world is witnessing unprecedented levels of popular solidarity, asserting that resistance forces have proven their ability to endure.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Swalah Ahmad Dabri, representing the National Imam of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah community in Ghana, declared the community's support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Lebanese resistance, stressing the need to transcend sectarian differences at this critical juncture.
Kwasi Pratt Jr., Secretary-General of the Socialist Movement of Ghana, stated that the unity of participants at the event sends a clear political message against U.S. and Zionist aggression. He called for transforming solidarity into tangible political action.
In closing, Sheikh Ismail Hussein, representing the "Ahl al-Quran" group in Accra Newtown, affirmed the group’s support for Iran and Hezbollah, and offered prayers for mercy upon the victims, healing for the injured, and the safe return of displaced persons to their homes.
