Today, Wednesday, the US Central Command announced a new strike in Yemen, targeting two anti-ship missiles of the Yemeni army, which were ready to be launched.
The Central Command said in a statement: “Central Command forces carried out air strikes against two Houthi anti-ship missiles that were targeting the southern Red Sea and were ready to be launched.”
The statement added: "US forces identified the missiles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and determined that they represented an imminent threat to commercial ships and US Navy vessels in the region. US forces subsequently bombed and destroyed the missiles in self-defense."
The statement continued: “This action will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for US Navy ships and commercial vessels.”
