In response to the severe challenges of displacement, volunteers from Beirut's southern suburbs are preparing and distributing meals for individuals and families displaced from the southern suburbs and regions of Lebanon. Operating within the Lebanese capital, these efforts aim to secure the most fundamental living necessities for those affected by the ongoing conflict.
Demonstrating resilience, a team of volunteers is working from a center in a central Beirut building to assist the displaced population. Their support includes providing daily meals and organizing Iftar gatherings to stand in solidarity with the community during the holy month of Ramadan—a period during which hostilities have intensified.
Working from a modest communal kitchen, the initiative focuses on delivering a warm, nutritious meal each day to approximately 750 displaced persons sheltering in the area. The volunteers prepare homestyle Iftar meals, seeking to offer not only sustenance but also a sense of comfort and a reminder of the warmth of family tables, a solace that has been lost for many this year due to the prevailing conditions.
