President of the lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, on a farewell visit marking the conclusion of his diplomatic mission after three years and seven months. Ambassador Amani presented an overview of the key milestones during his tenure in Beirut and the communications he undertook to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. President Aoun extended his best wishes for success in Amani's new duties within Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Separately, President Aoun met with the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Hajar, to discuss the country's security situation. Their talks focused on ongoing preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for next May, as well as arrangements for the upcoming conference in support of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, set to be held in Paris on March 5th. The meeting also addressed necessary measures to manage the structural collapses affecting several buildings in the city of Tripoli.
Furthermore, President Aoun met with a delegation from the Executive Council of the Lebanese Real Estate Appraisers Association, headed by its President, Captain San Demar Obeid. The delegation outlined the current state of the appraisal profession and emphasized the necessity of officially engaging certified appraisers in property valuation matters, particularly within ministries and public institutions. They also called for amendments to the law governing the profession, noting that approximately 520 experts are registered with the syndicate, compared to nearly five thousand unaffiliated appraisers operating outside its framework. Obeid stressed the importance of organizing specialized training courses in coordination with public administrations.
In response, President Aoun affirmed his appreciation for the role of certified real estate appraisers, highlighting their contribution to combating corruption, enhancing state revenues, and regulating appraisal processes according to clear legal standards.
