
On Tuesday morning, senior commanders of the Iranian Armed Forces, including Major General Amir Hatami, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Chief of Staff and Deputy Army Coordinator, and Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran. They held a meeting with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and a group of deputy ministers.
The meeting coincided with the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. During the discussions, Foreign Minister Araghchi provided clarifications regarding the resumption of indirect negotiations in Muscat. He stated, "Today, bolstered by the capabilities, readiness, and authority of our armed forces, we enter the diplomatic arena with greater confidence and strength."
For his part, Major General Hatami emphasized the full readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army to defend the nation's independence, territorial integrity, rights, and interests. He highlighted the close cooperation and coordination between the armed forces and the country's foreign policy apparatus.
Participants also reviewed recent regional and international developments. They stressed the paramount importance of comprehensive readiness, national resilience, and vigilance. The discussions underscored the necessity of effectively leveraging the nation's defensive and diplomatic capabilities to counter external threats.
In a related press conference, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Saeed Khatibzadeh, remarked, "Today we hosted the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and a group of his deputies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs." He added, "We were briefed on measures to enhance the country's defenses—a source of pride. Our armed forces have upgraded their capabilities through operational experience, having identified both our own strengths and weaknesses, as well as those of our adversaries. We also informed our friends from the armed forces about the latest developments in diplomatic endeavors. Diplomacy and field operations proceed in unison for the benefit of the nation."
