Ali Al-Dailami, a member of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau, expressed significant optimism regarding the prisoner exchange agreement signed yesterday between the Sana'a government and other parties. He characterized the deal as a positive outcome following substantial mediation efforts undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman.
In exclusive remarks to the Unews agency, Al-Dailami noted that the negotiations were conducted in a serious atmosphere with the participation of the Saudi side. He clarified, however, that a final judgment on the success of this arrangement can only be made after the involved parties exchange lists of detainees and the agreement is implemented on the ground. He emphasized that this deal is based on an "all for all" principle and is intended to conclusively resolve the prisoner file.
Regarding the delays that have plagued this humanitarian issue, Al-Dailami attributed them to a "lack of seriousness in previous periods, the linking of this humanitarian file to political matters, and the undermining of numerous local initiatives." He affirmed that the time has now come to finalize this file and return the detainees to their homes.
When asked about the potential for this agreement to facilitate progress on other outstanding issues, Al-Dailami reiterated Sana'a's long-standing position. He stated it is focused on "achieving a just peace that ensures the withdrawal of foreign forces, respects the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, and engages with Yemen within a framework of diplomacy based on respect for neighborly relations."
