The Speaker of the Lebanese House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, received on Tuesday a delegation from the Islamic Radio and Television Union, headed by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Union, Sheikh Nasser Akhdar, in a meeting that dealt with the Lebanese and regional situations, and the role of the resistance media in confronting the ongoing Israeli war.
In a press statement after the meeting, Sheikh Akhdar said that the delegation's visit comes "in appreciation of the high national position represented by His Excellency President Berri as a fundamental pillar in Lebanese political life and one of the most prominent Arab parliamentary leaders".
He added that the meeting touched on the pivotal role played by the Union in the Arab and Islamic media scene, especially during the battles of "Al-Aqsa Flood" and "The Guardians of Courage", which constituted a historic turning point in Arab and Islamic consciousness, noting that Israel "has lost its media narrative irreversibly."
He explained that the Union, which includes 235 media institutions in 35 countries speaking ten languages, closely follows Lebanese and Arab affairs, and supports national efforts in confronting Israeli aggressions and implementing Resolution 1701.
During the meeting, the delegation presented an honorary shield to HE President Berri in appreciation of his positions and continuous support for the resistance media.
For his part, President Berri presented a set of political and national positions.
